Buckets of Fun

 

 

 

We've had a fun day. The boys have been getting along nice and playing well together lately. Race likes to dress Van up and tie him up. Here's a picture of them from this morning.

We washed the car and they had a ball with the waterhose. This afternoon we filled up a bucket with water and they have been playing in it for a while. Van was yelling in his photo because he was mad that Race was laying in the bucket.

Some Summer Fun

 

 

Here are some photos of the boys at the Splash Park and at the Zoo. Race spent the night with a friend from VBS last night. Van is playing with his hotwheels and his books. Van was jumping up and landing on his bottom at VBS last night trying to get attention during Keith's presentation. He was up way past his bedtime and he tends to get hyper when he doesn't get to bed on time.

I finally printed some of the photos we took while in Vietnam. I took over 500 photos, so the project just seemed too overwhelming. I printed just those of the orphanage and our first meeting with Van. Looking back through these photos brought back sad memories of the kids left behind. I would go back tomorrow if given the chance. These two pictures are of kids that were in the same room as Van. These kids were hanging out of their cribs and seemed to be bored out of their minds, no toys or anything in sight to help them pass the time. I can't imagine having to stay in that crib day in and day out for who knows how long.

Why the sad face?

 

We invited some friends over for a cookout last weekend and had birthday cake for Isaiah. Van is upset because he couldn't have a THIRD piece of cake. Race and Keith are at the airport sending off Isaiah. The boys were starting to get snappy with each other, but today swapped apologies with each other before parting. I think Race will come home sad tonight.

Van and I went to a birthday party today, we had a good time. He was able to have some cake and he really enjoyed it, it was all over his face and all over his chair.

We took Van's diaper off while we were outside to see if he would let us know he needed to go to the potty. He done well outside, but eventually he came in and I found a puddle under him, on the wood floor, not the carpet, which was a good thing.

We had fun today, we had a water balloon fight and I think I ended up the most soaked. I tried to hide a water balloon in my pocket to get Keith with, but it backfired and burst in my pocket. Needless to say I got pretty wet.

Fun with Food

 

 

 

Van has a new fascination with poking things down his sippy cup (the ones with the soft lids). One day I found his sippy cup with a writing pen pushed through the opening and hanging around in his strawberry milk. Today I found Teddy Graham remains in his sippy cup. He lets me know that he is done with his food when he starts to pour his drink over his food and then proceed to play with it, as you can see in one of the pictures. Isaiah and Race were showing off their pringle duck lips at the zoo.

HIGH ENERGY

 

There's a lot of high energy in my house here lately. Here's Race, Isaiah and Van playing around in the yard. These kids have been running around like crazy. There's a big difference when you go from having one child to two children, but it seems likes two to three isn't that much of a change, but I know it's only temporary for us, not for those of you who have three kids year round. We are having a lot of fun, we spent to the sprinkle park yesterday and today, they enjoy going there and it's only a few minutes away.

Hot days

 

 

It's finally summer and it's hot. We have been busy this past week. Race's buddy arrived on Wednesday night and they have been on the go since he got here. The boys get up wanting to play basketball even before breakfast. They have been sleeping in a tent in Race's bedroom.

Chicken Pox and Rain

 

We woke up to a rainy day, but at least it has cooled things off a little bit. The boys are watching The Incredibles, they are actually sitting together on the couch and not fussing.

The boys have to get shots today. Van will finally be caught on his vaccinations, I think. Race needs a chickenpox vaccine shot before we can go on our trip.

We will help our neighbors move this evening and they'll be off to TN. Race's buddy, Isaiah arrives tomorrow night and Race is on cloud 9.
