It's been a busy time around here with training and homeschool prep. I have been sorting through our homeschool material trying to make sense out of it and I am almost done. We finally finished our foster to adopt training classes on Tuesday, so we have been having some down time the last two days.

We went and played volleyball last night with some of our new friends from the Vietnamese church. I am terrible at volleyball, but they were merciful and let me play anyway.

Meet our new kitties, Van's cat is the yellow one and he named him Pooch. Let's hope the cat doesn't start thinking that he's a dog. The gray cat is Race's and Race hasn't seen him yet, because he is at a friend's house and we just picked up the kitties this afternoon. These kitties belonged to a little boy that was scared of them, so the mom was in a hurry to find them a new home. We wanted little kittens, but a bigger kitty might be better for Van, that way the cat can protect himself. They are living on the back deck for now and we'll eventually put them in the yard. I wish they would come and find the lizard that's living in our basement. It's been over a week since we've seen him, so he may have died or gotten out. I think the kitties got a little car sick, one had saliva dripping from his mouth and the other one pooped, at least the one that pooped was in the box and the one with slobber hanging out of his mouth decided to jump in my lap, yuck!

Summer Trip

 

The boys took a trip to Georgia in June and this is a picture of them and their Granna and Poppy.

We want another cat

 

We are thinking of getting another cat. We hate that we had to give Butterscotch away when we moved, but those things happen. We have to call and ask the owner of the house and the property management group if we can have an outside cat without having to pay any extra. I love animals, but I am not going to pay a monthly fee to have one.

We will attend the 4th night of foster parent training tonight, it has been challenging to say the least. After the first night's meeting we almost changed our mind, but I think we'll stick it out. We have seen many success stories of kids that were adopted through the state foster care system.

What a busy summer!

 

I haven't had time to take any pictures lately. Race has had friends over, we've been going to the park and the zoo and having a good time, but a busy time as well. Tonight is the last night of VBS, on an average we have had about 10 kids each night. Monday night we start our foster to adopt training classes, which last about 2.5 weeks, so we'll continue to be busy for a few more weeks. We are requesting a girl, but Van was a girl request to start with as welll, so we'll see. The boys will be staying with different friends and church families, so I think that will be fun for them.

The house is a mess and we are in need of groceries. Race spent the night with a friend, so that will give me a chance to hopefully catch up on some chores and grocery shopping.

It's time to think about school for next year and it seems like we just got out. We plan to use the BJU dvd program, so that means I need to order it soon, so I can look through it and get it all organized.
