a trip to the zoo
Keith and I made a quick trip to the zoo tonight. We were planning to see the dinosaur exhibit, but the zoo closed earlier than we thought, so we just strolled through and saw a few animals. Isn't that a scary looking little monkey?

update on poison ivy- I ended up going to the doctor on Tuesday and got a steroid shot. I am seeing a little improvement today. It seems like I have been painting myself with calamine lotion the last day or so. I am taking Bendaryl, so I am feeling a little spaced out and brain dead right now.
I found this cute asian print at Hancock Fabrics, I plan to use it in our bathroom. There is bland tan striped wall paper on the walls, so I thought this might help liven it up a little.

What have we been up to?
We have been pretty busy since the boys have been gone. We have been trying to do a few chores at the house since we have a little more time on our hands.
We are taking it easy as well, we went to Krispy Kreme last night. I tried out the Lemon Cream Pie donut and I didn't really care for it, I like the raspberry jelly filled the best!

Still Itching
Well, my boys have been gone since Saturday and it's been mighty quiet around here. I have been a bit lazy and haven't got much accomplished.
My poison ivy seems to be spreading to my chin and back, how exciting! I have a doctor's appointment for this afternoon. The itching is almost unbearable at times. I have pink polka dots all over my arms and legs from the anti-itch spray, so I have been wearing jeans when I go out, but it's about too hot for that.

itching misery
Keith started a square foot garden about a week ago and it's looking good. Here are a few more pictures of the painting that we did. I am not so excited about the blue living room that should of turned out to be more of a sage. I will have to live with it, because I do not plan to repaint it anytime soon.
I have been working in the yard for a few days. The yard has a lot of poison ivy, so now I have a lot of bumps and rashes on my arms and legs. The itching is keeping me up at night. I soaked my feet and my arms in hot water with baking soda and that relieved the itching some, but it's back now. The best cure is keeping busy and trying to keep my mind off of it. It's so gross to look at and of course we are about to take a few days for vacation, just perfect timing. I am going to take some benadryl before bed tonight to see if that will help me sleep instead of scratch all night.
Tomorrow we are headed to drop off the boys with my parents for a week and then they are off to their other grandparent's house for a week. I don't think I have been two weeks without either one of them before.

A trip to the park
We went to the park yesterday and here are a few pictures of the boys having fun.
We hopefully put the last coat of red paint on the kitchen walls last night. I want to start on the living room tomorrow, but we'll see. Once we finish the living room, there's only a hallway to go!
