Van's hanging on Keith's new chin-up bar. Race and Keith will be dissecting an earth worm for science class tonight. I think they are excited about it. Race is playing basketball for Carlisle Baptist Church and they had their second game on Saturday. It was a good game, they were tied up for a while and in the last 10 seconds the other team scored a goal.

Adoption Update: I am still waiting on our homestudy to come in, which should be here any day now.

 

It's cold and there is snow on the ground, so that means we've been inside a lot lately. I am so ready for SPRING!!!!!

Adoption Update: Not much to say, but I did hear from my homestudy worker and she said that I should have the homestudy this evening or tomorrow. Once I get it, we have to make sure everything is correct and then send it back to her to get it finalized. I haven't heard from the adoption agency yet in regards to our dossier that they are reviewing, so hopefully no news is good news.

 

We had to get out in the snow this morning, because Van had a dentist appointment. Van was a little apprehensive and I thought he was going to cry, but he made it through the xrays and cleaning with no problem.

Adoption Update: We heard from our worker last week that once we have our fees paid and if 2 of the boys on the waiting list are still available we could have them home in 4-6 months.

I have been busy working on gathering information for the international adoption table for our luncheon at church on sanctity of human life sunday coming up in a few weeks.

Adoption Update: Praise- We'll be mailing our dossier in tomorrow, the amount we needed was actually less than we were anticipating. We are thankful for the Lord providing the needed funds. Our completed homestudy should be in next week, the holidays make things take a little longer. Once our homestudy is in we'll be able to apply for some grants. We need a certain amount before we'll be able to accept a referral. We are still interested in the little boys on the waiting list. There are only 3 boys instead of 4, one was accepted by another family. I sent the medical records of these 3 boys to the international adoption clinic today. We are not sure which of the 2 boys we're most interested in. We'll wait and see which of them are still available when the needed amount has been received.

 

 

It looks like this basement is going to have to be turned into a bedroom after all. The question now is-whose bedroom will it be?

Happy Birthday Keith!

 

 

Tomorrow is Keith's birthday, so I decided to bake him a cake. I thought I would experiment and try to bake him a multi-layer cake, but it didn't quite turn out like I expected. One layer was too thin on one side, so we ended up just eating it out of the pan. I didn't have enough icing either, that's why you are only seeing the view from the top. It's the thought that counts right?

Adoption Update: We have all of the documents for the homestudy and should be receiving the last document for the dossier any day now. Next, we'll send the dossier to the adoption agency to look over to see if we need to make any corrections. Once our homestudy and dossier are approved and our fees are paid we'll be matched up with the children on the "waiting child" list that we're praying about or we'll request to wait for a referral of a specific sex/age of two children. It will be significantly faster to accept the two boys on the "waiting child" list. We have contacted an adoption clinic here that is going to look at their medical tests to give us their opinion on the health of these boys. One boy is 3 and the other is 4, I can't put their pictures on here, but they're cute boys.
