All of the above pictures are from the Capitol and surrounding grounds. A lot of the pictures turned out dark, so maybe you can make them out. The statues in the Rotunda are of: Jefferson Davis, Henry Clay, Abraham Lincoln, Dr. Ephraim McDowell and Alben Barkley.

Tuesday, we took a field trip to Frankfort, Kentucky to tour the Capitol, the Governor's Mansion, The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial and Daniel Boone's grave. All of the pictures above are from the Mansion, it's not a shabby place. Look behind the podium and you'll see Van trying to poke his head up to the microphone. I can see him being a politician one day, he loves to talk to anyone that will listen.

The Capitol in Frankfort, Kentucky

 

 

 

We have been enjoying the outdoors lately. Race was raking up some leaves in the back yard and discovered this nice worm. Van has been having fun playing around in the pool the last few days.

 

Kroger has been the place to be for groceries lately, especially if you like noodles. I saved $61.40 after sales and coupons. My total for 28 boxes of noodles, 2 half gallons of Silk, 2 boxes of instant oatmeal, 1 bottle of ketchup and 1 jar of spaghetti sauce was $2.46. If you're coming to our house for supper, guess what we're having.

What a beautiful day. We are babysitting later, so I think I will let the kids play outside while I wash the van.

 

I normally let Van make his own oatmeal in the morings, but this morning he forgot to add a key ingredient before putting it in the microwave-WATER. I had to open the windows, the door, and turn the fan on to get the smell out, but all is well now and the microwave is off limits for a while.
